Origin
The Seabird Station was founded in 1980, when Harry & Darlene Kelton found one injured pelican wandering Pelican Harbor Marina.

The Seabird Station accepts all native birds, mammals and reptiles. Injued wildlife can be dropped off 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Can I visit?
We are open to visitors every day of the year from 9:00 AM to noon and 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Field Trips for school groups or other large groups must be scheduled in advance.
National Reach
The Seabird Station is frequently consulted for help with injured pelicans as far away as Central America and America’s Pacific Northwest.
Fish
In 2010, the Seabird Station used 40,686 pounds of fish at a cost of $30,000.
Who funds this work?
We operate on donations from private citizens, local businesses and private foundations.
Seabird Station Expands Its Capabilities With Boat
The Seabird Station recently took delivery of a newly restored work boat. The staff and owners of T-n-T Custom Marine of North Miami volunteered their time and resources to restore it to working order.
